Every Saturday from 19 September to 10 October 2026, we are bringing a little piece of American Halloween magic to the Swedish countryside.

Our farm is located in Hökerum, approximately one hour from Gothenburg.
This is not only a place to buy a pumpkin.
It is a place to slow down, breathe in the crisp autumn air, enjoy seasonal food and drinks, and create a joyful autumn tradition with someone you love.
An American Halloween Pumpkin Patch Near Gothenburg
I grew up in California, where visiting a pumpkin patch was part of the autumn season.
You would wander through rows of pumpkins and search for the one that felt just right. You might drink warm apple cider, eat a pumpkin-flavored treat, take family photographs, and return home ready to carve your chosen pumpkin into a jack-o’-lantern.
It was never simply about buying a pumpkin.
It was about the whole experience: cool autumn air, seasonal treats, slightly chaotic family photographs, and the excitement of bringing your pumpkin home.
Those are the kinds of core memories we hope to create at Wildflower Farm.
In October 2025, we opened our first American-style Halloween pumpkin patch in Sweden. Families, friends, couples, costumes, and a truly impressive amount of pumpkin enthusiasm arrived at our little farm.
We discovered just how many people were longing for a playful autumn experience in the Swedish countryside.
So, naturally, we planted hundreds more pumpkins.
In 2026, the Wildflower Farm Pumpkin Patch returns for its second year.
What Inspired Us to Start a Halloween Pumpkin Patch?
I loved visiting pumpkin patches from childhood through adulthood.
When Mathias and I were living in Seattle, Washington, I introduced him to the tradition. We wandered through the patch, chose our pumpkins, and I taught him how to carve his first jack-o’-lantern.
Every year since, we have carved pumpkins together.
Pumpkin patches gave us a reason to spend time outside, choose pumpkins together, enjoy seasonal food, and celebrate autumn in a playful way.
When we moved to our farm in Sweden, we wanted to bring that feeling with us.
We also knew this was an American tradition we wanted to share with our child—something joyful, seasonal, and full of the kind of memories that stay with you.
The Wildflower Farm Pumpkin Patch combines an American autumn tradition with the beauty of the Swedish countryside. It is our way of sharing something we love and giving visitors the chance to create their own Halloween traditions.
What Can You Expect at the Wildflower Farm Pumpkin Patch?
The Wildflower Farm Pumpkin Patch takes place outdoors on a real working farm, so a little preparation will help you enjoy your visit.
Tickets Are Required for Entry
Tickets are required to visit the Wildflower Farm Pumpkin Patch in 2026.
General admission costs 80 kr per person.
Advance tickets tell us exactly how many visitors to expect each Saturday. This helps us prepare the farm and make sure we have enough food, drinks, and freshly baked seasonal treats for everyone.

American Baked Goods, Pumpkin Soup, and Warm Drinks
Seasonal food and drinks will be available to purchase during the Pumpkin Patch, including:
- American pumpkin-themed baked goods
- Pumpkin soup
- Hot cocoa
- Warm apple cider
- Coffee
- Other seasonal treats
We prepare everything in small batches for each Saturday. Advance tickets help us make sure we have enough pumpkin soup, American baked goods, hot cocoa, warm apple cider, coffee, and seasonal treats ready for everyone joining us.
The true horror of Halloween would be an empty cake table.
Costumes Are Welcome
Costumes are warmly encouraged for children and adults.
Come dressed as something spooky, silly, magical, simple, or wonderfully over-the-top.
You can be a witch, ghost, vampire, scarecrow, woodland creature, storybook character, pumpkin, or whatever else has been quietly waiting in the back of your wardrobe.
A black jumper and a witch’s hat absolutely count.
There is no pressure to dress up, but we fully support joyful seasonal nonsense.
Check the Weather Before You Visit
Swedish autumn weather can change quickly.
Your visit may be crisp and golden, cool and misty, rainy and dramatic, or gloriously muddy.
Please check the weather forecast before traveling and dress for the conditions.
We recommend:
- Warm, comfortable layers
- Waterproof clothing when rain is expected
- Sturdy shoes or boots
- Clothes that can handle a little countryside mud
We do not recommend wearing your favorite white trainers unless you are prepared to give them a new earthy color palette.

Pumpkins will be available to purchase during the event.
You can choose from pumpkins in different shapes, sizes, colours, and varieties. Some are ideal for carving, while others are perfect for cooking, decorating, or creating a beautiful autumn display at home.

Pumpkin Carving Workshops
Pumpkin carving workshops are available every Saturday during the 2026 Pumpkin Patch events.
Each workshop begins at 1:00pm and lasts approximately 1–1.5 hours.
There are only 10 workshop places available per session.
The workshop costs 1,080 kr per ticket, and each ticket includes one pumpkin to carve and take home.
During the workshop, you will learn how to:
- Prepare and clean your pumpkin
- Save and reuse the pumpkin seeds
- Create your own carving design
- Transfer your design onto the pumpkin
- Carve your pumpkin safely
No previous pumpkin-carving experience is necessary.
The workshop will be taught in English, but you do not need to speak English to participate. Tess understands Swedish but is still learning and does not yet teach in Swedish.
One workshop ticket is valid for either:
- one adult participant, or
- one child participant accompanied by a supervising parent or guardian
Participants under the age of 16 must have an adult present because knives and other sharp tools will be used.
Please note that the workshop ticket does not include general admission.
Everyone attending the farm must also have a separate 80 kr Pumpkin Patch ticket, including parents or guardians supervising a child.

En kort historia om Halloween
Halloween has its roots in the Celtic festival Samhain, which marked the end of the harvest and the start of winter. People lit bonfires and wore costumes to keep spirits away. Later, it merged with Christian traditions and became known as All Hallows’ Eve—eventually, Halloween.
Originally, people carved turnips with candles inside. When the tradition made its way to North America, pumpkins became the go-to carving vegetable. Over time, Halloween grew into the celebration we know today—with costumes, candy, and spooky fun.
Pumpkin patches also grew in popularity—not just as a place to buy pumpkins, but as a way to celebrate the season with hayrides, corn mazes, and family events.
